The stories behind the term "Blue Plate Special" range from Depression-era diners using disposable blue plates sectioned into three for meat, starch and vegetable to 15-minute meals, pre-made and served on blue plates in busy American train stations. Regardless of where the special came from, it is a familiar term that reached its peak during the 50's, an era the Blue Plate Diner wants to re-visit.

The Blue Plated diner seats 150 people, 45 in a private dining area. The decor is 50's style with chrome and pastel tile design combined with modern artwork, amusements and amenities. Staff is formally attired in white shirts and bowties with aprons, serving in a retro chic environment.
